| CST's CommPass pagers sort out the queue at the superstore pharmacy counter,
delivering happier customers and increased sales throughout the store.

The queue at the pharmacy counter of big stores is set to be a thing of the past now Call-Systems Technology (CST) has introduced the CommPass Pharmacy paging system. Compass is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the pharmacy department and benefits both customers and retailers alike.
Queue management has always been a problem at the pharmacy counter. While customers are waiting in a queue they are usually unhappy and, of course, they're not spending money in other parts of the store. Worse still, if customers see a big queue at the counter they may be so discouraged that they don't even bother to get the prescription filled, and they most probably won't come back to try again.
Now with the help of the CommPass Pharmacy paging system it's all so easy - the queue becomes invisible. Customers simply go to the counter to give in their prescription, pick up a pager, indulge in a bit of retail therapy while they're waiting, and return to the pharmacy counter for their prescription when paged - no messing about, no queue, no problems with confidentiality and, most importantly, no dissatisfied customers.
79% of consumers want one-stop shopping for their health needs. The retailer obviously wants it too and CommPass helps deliver this in stores with its integrated 'promo' window. Retailers can use this facility to increase purchasing by linking customers to non-prescription health product aisles in the store.
The promotional cards can target different areas in-store, depending on the time of year or current media trends. Cold remedies in the winter are an obvious choice as are sun protection products in the summer, while healthy eating options are a year round option.
The promo window can also be used to advertise third parties, including in-store concessionaires, and it also gives the opportunity to highlight special promotions, either in-house or by leading healthcare providers.
When not in use the pagers are stored in a space saving, tower design charger. Each tower supports 20 pagers but for busy outlets the racks can be daisy-chained together to support up to 1000 pagers. The simple to operate transmitter can be sited either on a desktop, or wall mounted as desired.
Being wireless the system is easy to install, it needs virtually no maintenance and running costs are negligible. However, as CST points out, it can deliver significant profits by allowing customers to roam and buy in the rest of the store.
