CST Man Qualifies for Melbourne

CST Sponsors Scottish Steeplechaser

Army sergeant swaps Basra for Melbourne
in bid for Commonwealth gold

CST is delighted to support Kevin Sheppard in his bid for gold at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

CST is the leading specialist in onsite communications for the hospitality market. Says marketing manager Jane Beales: "Our business is based on speeding up communications and delivering faster customer service, whatever the obstacles. Sponsoring a steeplechaser is a perfect fit!"

Even by steeplechase standards, Kevin has had an unusual training schedule - dodging bombs and bullets in Basra, where he has been on active duty as a Sergeant in the British Army. And he's still fast, holding the title of Scottish 3000m steeplechase champion and British Army steeplechase record for the same distance.

Having recently finished his climate training in South Africa, Kevin is now situated at Commonwealth training facilities in Melbourne. "For most competitors, being at the games will be a gruelling as well as thrilling experience," says Jane Beales. "For Kevin, after Iraq, it'll be a walk in the park!"

CST's sponsorship is worth around £3000 to Kevin Sheppard, mainly covering the cost of equipment (running shoes wear out in 6 weeks due to the training!) plus travel and accommodation during training and competition.
