CST partner Whitbread to focus on hotel-restaurant combo
International hotel chain and CST partner Whitbread has sold one of its Brewers Fayre pubs in Nottinghamshire as its shifts its focus to its flagship budget hotel chain Premier Inn.The firm has offloaded the public house and family restaurant to Greene King - a key player in the pub sector.
Whitbread is using the sale to concentrate on key Premier Inn and pub/restaurant locations in the county.
Greene King has refurbished the Ashley Hotel and reopened it under the Hungry Horse brand.
Simon Hobbs, head of asset management at Whitbread, said: "This sale reflects Whitbread's long-term strategy to operate pub restaurants with a Premier Inn alongside where we can capture the benefits of both brands.
"The Ashley Hotel did not support our criteria for Premier Inn and as a consequence we decided to dispose of the asset."
CST supplies the various Premier Inn hotels across the country with WaiterCall and AlarmCall staff communication solutions.
