Whitbread in eco-friendly hotel drive
Hospitality firm Whitbread, which is a long-standing partner of CST, is set to turn its hotel portfolio green. As part of its drive to become more eco-friendly, the firm, which uses CST's WaiterCall and AlarmCall technologies, is spending £7 million on the drive to cut its carbon footprint.
According to the firm, the investment will focus on both carbon emissions and water consumption at its various CST-enabled hotels and restaurants.
Whitbread is hoping that the investment will allow it to cut its energy consumption by 26 per cent and its water used by 20 per cent in the next decade.
Chris George, Whitbread's head of energy and environment, said: "This significant green investment is a major step forward for Whitbread.
"What's really exciting about our programme is its scale we have the largest portfolio of hotels, restaurants and coffee shops in the UK."
It was recently reported by the company that its Premier Inn brand, which uses CST technology, bolstered its sales during the recent economic downturn.
