CST ‘steaks’ its claim in Italy

CST has secured a landmark European contract win in its 20th Anniversary year, to supply QSR Automations' ConnectSmart® Kitchen (CSK) technology across the estate of Italy’s first steakhouse chain. Roadhouse Grill, owned by the Cremonini Group, will be the first casual dining chain in Italy to adopt back-of-house technology across its estate of 68 sites in Italy and two in Bulgaria, with a further 30 additional sites planned for 2016.

As the chain continues its expansion plans, the business required an innovative technology solution that would radically transform the experience for its customers from a good one to a great one. CST was briefed to supply a more efficient and effective guest experience, which could deliver high volumes quickly across the estate, whilst increasing cover turns and consistency of service to ensure a quality offering.  The technology has enabled the brand to reduce its average ticket time from 12 minutes at peak service, to just eight!

CSK effectively manages the operational challenges of collating an abundance of steak orders, ensuring that every meal is consistently delivered to the customer’s exact requirements quickly. The technology provides individual chefs with just the items they are responsible for preparing and when it’s time to prepare them. CSK ensures that meals for each table are completed at the same time, irrespective of whether they have different cook times or are prepared at different kitchen stations. For the customer this means hot and freshly prepared meals are served together, every time.

Nicolas Bigard, CEO of Roadhouse Grill commented: “I have worked with great restaurants in different markets and because of this, I have come across numerous technology solutions over the years. I am particularly influenced by the incredible service culture and solutions to be found in the US and UK, which I know is chiefly driven by clever technology. That’s what I wanted for my business, a technology solution that could grow with us, but more importantly, would take our food offering and customer service to a whole new level. QSR Automations technology will do this. I couldn’t wait to get it rolled out across our estate and already it is transforming our restaurants, ensuring we remain way ahead of the competition. This is the future for my business, my restaurant managers feel empowered and I wouldn’t open another restaurant without the technology!”

Ashley Sheppard, Group Commercial Director, Call Systems Technology commented: “What a contract to win in our 20th anniversary year! Roadhouse Grill is a major casual dining operator in Italy with phenomenal plans for growth over the next year. Back-of house technology is standard practice in chains across America and it is quickly becoming the norm in the UK. It is therefore hugely rewarding to see a leading Italian restaurant chain embrace the technology, knowing it will dramatically transform efficiencies and the consistency of their offering across their estate.”
