Sophisticated Key Technology

Most bump bars in the industry use metal dome switch key technology which requires a precise "push" in the centre of the key to enable functionality and maintain a typical pushing rate of 3 million pushes. The KP-4000's durable sophisticated key technology consistently fuctions with less- than-perfect pushes and offers an enhanced tactile feel. The user receives an immediate response and a "click" feel to verify the engagement of the key, thereby eliminating extra pushes.

Open and Flexible

The KP-4000 can be tabletop or wall mounted using QSR's bracketing options or 3rd party brackets. With it's reliable, purpose built design the KP-4000 can be easily and cost effectively installed in the working areas of the kitchen and up to 100 ft away from the controller.

In addition to it's solid construction and flexibility, operators have the option to configure any, or all of the KP-4000's twenty keys. The overlays can be customized and slide easily into place without the use of tools.

Built specifically for harsh hospitality environments, the ePic Controller provides an industrialized construction with no moving parts or fans to bring in grease-filled air and has the ability to operate at high temperature levels and extensive interfaces.

In addition to the ethernet, locking power connections and the standard PS/2 connection for the keypad interface, the ePic controller also supports touch-screen monitors and serial printers.

The ePic's event-driven design includes test complete redundancy with no single point of failure. One compact ePic Controller is used at each kitchen station along with a bumping mechanism, typically QSR's KP-400 Keypad and a monitor. Each ePic Controller is connected to the same ethernet network as the point-of-sale terminals and back office machine. In the event of an outage, the system provides automated fail-over protection with no human intervention required. Additionally, devices can be swapped out in real-time should a change need to be made during the course of the day.

The ePic Controllers are managed by a powerful windows-based graphical tool set that enable quick configuration and advanced diagnostics for the kitchen hardware on the network, including the ability to perform real-time changes without losing orders.

In addition to the standard ePic Controller. QSR also offer a version which will run the Microsoft® Windows® CE operating system. This version enables operators to power QSR's graphical Kitchen Management Software, take advantage of double byte characters for international use and run browser based and targeted applications in the kitchen.

Additionally, the ePic Controller will optimally run QSR's Advanced Kitchen Software Solutions, including third party kitchen applications.
