"Restaurant & Bar communications specialist launches new systems"


Call-Systems Technology (CST) is set to change the way restaurants work at Hotelympia 2002.

CST will also be showing their market-leading range of JTECH paging and onsite communications systems for the hospitality and leisure markets. Amongst the paging systems on display will be the ever-popular JTECH WaiterCall Pagers. With a silent vibration the pagers discreetly alert waiting staff that an order is ready in the kitchen, speeding up food service and thus making the operation more efficient and profitable.

The PeopleCall system pagers, on the other hand, are given to waiting customers to alert them when their table is ready. This allows them to wait in a bar or garden area rather than queuing at the host stand. Thousands of customers have already found that the system dramatically increases bar revenues, and by turning tables faster it virtually eliminates 'walk-aways'. This pager is attached to a transparent fob to prevent customers accidentally wandering off with it. The fob can be used as an effective marketing tool to advertise special deals and forthcoming events or allows suppliers to sponsor the system with their own advertisements.

CST's friendly staff will demonstrate how their low-cost systems, specifically designed for the hospitality industry, can pay for themselves in just a few weeks by continuing to generate extra profits for years.

Also making their Hotelympia debut is the "next generation" of JTECH systems that use UHF rather than VHF frequencies, giving a wider range and longer battery life. They can also be integrated with EPOS and touch-screen systems, which have added significant user benefits.

For example, when a table's meals are prepared, the chef can simply touch a screen in the kitchen, which deletes the order and automatically pages the waiter that the food is ready. For managers, a system connected to the EPOS can provide instant text message alerts such as too many voids are being run up or over £500 in the till, or any other critical information that they may wish to be made aware of.

The award-winning Electronic Comment Card (ECC) is another Show highlight. An electronic touch pad control with an LCD display, all housed in a leather folder, is delivered to the customer with the bill at the end of the meal. When the customer opens the folder the ECC takes them through a series of yes/no answers, or asks for ratings on a scale of 1 to 10 for various aspects of their dining experience.

The information gathered can be downloaded to a PC overnight and compiled into surveys and tables that show exactly how every area of the restaurant is performing at any time, hour by hour, day by day, and month by month. By highlighting strengths and weaknesses the system guarantees that managers are making informed business decisions from real-time feedback.
