CST's Christmas Capacity Management

Make more of your capacity with CST's hospitality technology

No room at the Inn?
Make more of your capacity with CST's hospitality technology

Every business looks forward to finishing the year with a bang, and to many caterers a good Christmas can make the difference to finishing the year in profit. But often everything will hinge on how much extra capacity you can squeeze out of your tables of extra customers (spending all that extra money).

Hospitality communications specialist Call-Systems Technology (CST) says it has a variety of solutions to help maximise capacity. The ResPAK and HostAlert software packages help optimize capacity management, whilst the award-winning TableCall pager system helps staff concentrate on the customers who need them, speeding up service (and spending!)

Managing More Out Of Your Christmas Capacity

CST's HostAlert system is designed for the casual restaurants that specialises in 'walk-ins' and fast 'table-turning'. It's a fast, intelligent capacity management system for overseeing waiting lists, assisting with table seating and managing the restaurants capacity.

For example, HostAlert is excellent at allocating tables of varying sizes - from large parties to dine-alones - based on how long it expects various tables to turn. Says Ashley Sheppard, Sales Director of CST: "By maximising your restaurant's capacity, HostAlert increases turnover - and the busier the site, the more dramatic the improvement in profitability."

ResPAK, installed in many of the UK's greatest hotels, is the complete capacity management system for hotel restaurants, conferences and events. In restaurants it doesn't just manage the tables, it can even follow customers around the world in different hotels to reserve tables years in advance if needed, while remembering the customers' preferences.

ResPAK now features both the sophisticated restaurant management system and the feature-packed conference and event-managing package, at no extra cost. It also allows 'live' Internet bookings by regular clients.

"Hotels and conferencing facilities that still use book and pen will have their capacity transformed by the latest ResPAK," says Ashley Sheppard. "At Christmas, its benefits will be even more pronounced."

Award-winning service for Christmas

The TableCall concept is very simple. When customers need service, they simply press the button on their table. This sends a pager alert to the waiter's station, telling them to respond as quickly as possible.

"TableCall is a big plus for large and busy restaurants where waiters can't always see which tables require service", adds Ashley Sheppard. "At Christmas it's even more important, because it is vital to maximise profits for the season. Because staff concentrate on selling to customers who want service, service is not only faster but customers are happier and the business is more profitable."

TableCall features a compact, attractive housing with up to five call-buttons representing various services (for example, drinks, food or the bill). Each button sends the pager alerts to the right staff member.

"Our trials indicate that TableCall can increase spend per table by up to 20% on drinks and desserts", says Ashley Sheppard. "At Christmas the figure could be even bigger."

Best of all, TableCall costs very little to install and there are virtually no running costs. For example, a twenty-table system would cost around £2,000. This means that if each table generates just £25 extra profit on sales a week, the system could have paid for itself in a single month. Because TableCall is wireless it's also easy to install and maintain and training takes a matter of a few minutes. Even large restaurants, hotels and dining areas can have a TableCall system up and running in a few hours. That's well in time for Christmas!
