Top new London restaurants opening in summer 2019

If you’re looking to delight the senses with an array of culinary delights this Summer, look no farther than London. The UK’s Capital has a reputation for offering new and interesting dining experiences, and 2019 is set to keep up the trend. With new eateries opening almost weekly, there’s always something exciting on the menu so, we’ve put together our own list of the hottest, ‘must visit’ restaurants opening this year.

Bob Bob Cité

A sequel to Bob Bob Ricard; Bob Bob Cité is the newest addition to the Leadenhall building (also known as the cheesegrater) in the heart of London. The extravagant restaurant will serve a modern French menu curated by Michelin Star chef Eric Chavot.

It will seat 190 covers, with a collection of private rooms for a further 50. There will also be the appearance of the famous ‘Presser pour Champagne’ at each table, that feature in the original Bob Bob Ricard restaurant.

Parrillan (‘parrillas’ – meaning grill)

Coals drop Yard hosts some of the top restaurants in London, including the highly rated ‘Dishoom’. It’s newest addition, however is a DIY table-top grilling Spanish dining restaurant. From the creators of Barrafina, Parrillan is hosts a similar Spanish tapas menu however with the main addition this time of bespoke mini charcoal grills for every table. The grills allow customers to cook their own meats, fish or vegetables from choices such as; 50-day aged Rump steak (£18, Diver caught scallops (£7) and Vegetable Parrelada (£12).

Parrillan Restaurant


Orange Buffalo

The Brand is opening their first restaurant on Tooting Broadway, having previously sold their wings as street food in Hoxton and Brick Lane. The restaurant will feature a variety of American burgers and selection of wings with the choice of four house-made sauces: ‘The original’, made with Dutch chillies; ‘Woof Woof’, made with scotch bonnets, Dutch chillies and naga; Barbeque for the non-chilli fans; and K-Town, which contains gochujang paste, sesame seeds, honey and soy. For those who like adventure and risk taking, the addition of the ‘snake in the basket’ wing roulette dish will feature on the menu. It contains two of the above wings with a hidden viper wing, which has a scoville rating of 1m+, requiring customers to sign a disclaimer before purchasing the dish.

London’s first Swiss themed restaurant will soon be open in the heart of Soho. The menu boasts a selection of “classic Swiss dishes you know and love, but jazzed up with premium ingredients such as wagyu beef, lobster and black truffle” according to the restaurants website. Cheeses in the form of a hot fondue being paired with a meat, fish or vegetable option; Raclette and Rosti’s will be on offer, grasping the Swiss food experience. Diners are also offered the option of a barbecuing their own food, using table-top grills, in the ‘charbonnade’ option on the menu; providing the choice of cuts of meat, fresh seafood and vegetables.

Baozi Inn Borough

BaoziInn is due to open a big flagship store in borough, just round the corner from the market itself – perfect for a quick lunch or evening dining and drinks. As the same with the restaurants in Soho and Market hall, the restaurant will feature the Hunan and Sichuan street food inspired dishes as well as the Baozi, various noodles and their intensely coloured dim sum that they are best known for.
The site is also promising something a little different this time round from its sister sites, with a private karaoke room being featured in the downstairs of the new restaurant, providing enough room for up to 12 people at only £5-£8 an hour to use (per person), allowing customers to order cocktail pitchers or beer buckets alongside fried and grill karaoke platters while they belt out all the classics! The restaurant also features a grab-n-go hatch for those in a hurry that wish to order the delicious Bao.

Opening up on the seventh floor (accessed by a private lift) of Manhattan Loft Gardens in Stratford, Allegra will be a restaurant that certainly has a view! With a large outside terrace, herb garden and a glass wine room, Allegra is a perfect summer restaurant location to have a meal with a view. Headed up by Irish ex Chiltern firehouse head chef, Patrick Powell, Allegra presents a Modern European menu

Hoh Sek

‘Hoh Sek’, meaning delicious in Cantonese, is a noodle-focused restaurant at St Katherine Dock. Saiphin and Alex Moore, the creators of Rosa’s Thai café, are the pair behind the opening of the new restaurant this July. During the day (12pm-3pm) the restaurant will have a grab and go noodle menu based around ‘Saiphin’s Six’ – six different types of noddle’s with Asia-wide influence however; mainly Chinese. Dishes such as Pork noodle soup with rice noodles, roasted pork long beans, celery, coriander, bean sprout & lime’ will be on offer.

Project TÓU

Ta Ta Eatery are renowned for serving the best Katsu Sandos in London. Now, they’re opening the first restaurant shop, contrasting from their previous pop-up locations and residency in London bar; Tayer and Elementary. The opening of Project TÓU is synonymous with the ever-growing popularity of the Japanese inspired sandwich. For those who like a late night munch, the restaurant will be open from noon to midnight – plenty of time for everyone to grab a taste of the newest, and arguably best, sandwich in town.
