A whopping 75% of Brits will avoid a business altogether if they think the queue is too long. That’s according to new research by Barclaycard who found that queues in pubs were the third most hated type of queue. But how can your bar or restaurant avoid long queues without losing potential customers?

Create an ‘invisible queue’

Customer pagers create an ‘invisible queue’ of waiting diners by allowing them to wait where they wish. The secret is to let customers relax at the bar or browse the local area while they wait. With CST customer pagers, you can serve guests in a sequence without them physically waiting in a queue. Hand customers a pager on arrival and send them an instant alert when it’s their turn to be served.

Reduce Walk-aways

Walk-aways can also be reduced with a customer paging system. The pagers provide a physical link to the store and customers feel obliged to return. A CustomerCall system can also estimate wait times. With more accurate estimates in hand, you will reduce walk-aways and improve the customer experience.

 Provide accurate wait times

A relaxed host makes a great first impression. Our table management system uses real-time information from the restaurant to generate accurate wait times. “It turns tables faster and gives accurate wait times, so queues are shorter and people are happy to wait. It paid for itself in the first two weeks of summer” says Jerry Marks, Business Development Manager at Giraffe.
